Quality Fillies to Star for Miranda Park

Based at Hesket in the Macedon Ranges, Miranda Park will present their best-ever draft at Inglis Premier this year featuring the half-sister to a Group I VRC Oaks winner.

A thriving breeding and agistment farm, Miranda Park has also achieved commercial success in the sale ring with quality Group winning mare Sirileo Miss plucked from their Inglis Premier draft in 2019.

Bred by Miranda Park’s Gary O’Meara and sold though their Premier draft for $60,000 to Wilde Racing, the daughter of Pride of Dubai proved a natural runner and has the impressive record of seven wins and six placings from 22 starts with prizemoney topping $660,000.

Miranda Park will offer a draft of nine at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale starting this Sunday and the half-sister to Oaks queen Lasqueti Spirit, plus a pair of Toronado (IRE) filles are obvious highlights.

Miranda Park purchased Supriym Story, the dam of Group I VRC Oaks winner Lasqueti Spirit, from the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale in 2021 when she was in foal to Headwater and the resulting filly will be offered as Lot 180.

This strongly built chestnut is a half-sister to four winners headed by Lasqueti Spirit, who was also multiple Group I placed winning just shy of $1million in prizemoney and her first foal Pogacar (Pierro) is a most promising three year-old in the Chris Waller stable.

“She’s a quality filly with a great temperament that oozes class,” said Gary O’Meara.

“There is a lot of General Nediym about her. She will run and be an asset to any breeding operation in the future and stands out as a serious investment opportunity.”

Lot 211 is an athletic bay Toronado (IRE)  filly from a premium family of sprinters being the fourth foal of Unplayable (NZ), an unraced half-sister to Group placed Oscar Zulu and grand-daughter of blue hen Parfore, the dam of Group I sprinters Terravista and Tiger Tees as well as Group II winner Ball of Muscle, Singapore Horse of the Year Super Easy and stakes-winner Our Lukas.

“She’s a classy, athletic filly with a lovely, loose relaxed walk and is closely related to so many elite sprinters from one of the best families in the studbook,” said Gary O’Meara.

“Add the Toronado factor and she stands out as tremendous racing opportunity with significant residual value.”

Lot 502 is a half-sister by Toronado (IRE) to stakes-placed Al Jood and another multiple winner from Jood, an unraced half-sister by Red Ransom (USA) to Group III winner El Maze from Group III winer Almazyoon.

“Powerful and athletic, she has been clearly stamped by Toronado and you would think she was a colt,” said O’Meara.

“This filly is beautifully proportioned and has a great action.”
