Proisir Brother Divine Prophet Relocates to Highview Stud

Media Release - Wednesday April 12

In a massive coup for New Zealand racing and breeding, Highview Stud has secured the services of exciting stallion Divine Prophet.

Divine Prophet

The Caulfield Guineas winner is bound to be a huge drawcard for New Zealand breeders, particularly given he’s a full brother to sire sensation Proisir, let alone the fact he is already the sire of Sandown Guineas winner, See You In Heaven and 2YO Group 2 winner Promitto. In the 2022/23 season alone, Proisir, is the sire of five individual Group 1 winners, with both Prowess (Vinery Stud Stakes) and Legarto (Australian Guineas) winning at the elite level in Australia.

“We simply could not be happier for the opportunity to stand a stallion of Divine Prophet’s calibre,” Highview Stud’s Brent Gillovic enthused. “New Zealand is somewhat regarded for producing horses that mature into a mile and beyond, while Divine Prophet has already clearly shown he is capable of siring quality 2YOs that train on.

“We inspected Divine Prophet at Aquis and were hugely impressed by what a magnificent athlete he is, with a beautiful temperament, and is clearly throwing them to type with his progeny selling up to $375,000 at Australian sales.

“Importantly, Divine Prophet was a superior racehorse to his brother Proisir, he was Group 1 placed at two before winning both the Caulfield Guineas and Up & Coming Stakes at three – both of which are renowned as ‘sire making’ races and won by the likes of Snitzel, Redoute’s Choice, Vain, Marscay, Fastnet Rock, Exceed And Excel, Lonhro and co.

“Proisir’s best runners have originated from a diverse range of broodmare sires here in New Zealand and, quite obviously, with Divine Prophet being a full brother, a terrific racehorse and already a proven sire, we’re anticipating that New Zealand breeders will jump at the chance to ‘tap’ into this successful line.

“Divine Prophet is already a proven sire with over 60 winners – two of them at Group 2 level – and will stand at a fee accessible to the vast majority of broodmare owners. I think it is an absolute coup for the New Zealand breeding industry and we are indebted to Aquis for the opportunity,” said Gillovic.

“We believe New Zealand is exactly where Divine Prophet needs to be, he will be perfectly placed as a value option like his full brother has been for the last few years,” Aquis Stallions Director of Sales, Jonathan Davies points out. “Proisir is one of the hottest stallions in Australasia and we are excited to present his full brother to the same breeders that have made Proisir what he is now,” concluded Davies.

A fee for Divine Prophet will be released by Highview Sud at a later date.
