About Time for It'sourtime in Straight Six

Mark Smith - Saturday May 13

After Commando Hunt claimed the Listed Scone Cup on Friday, Kitchwin Hills’ ill-fated stallion Time For War struck again when It'sourtime broke a twelve months drought in the Listed Hilton Nicholas Straight Six at Flemington on Saturday.

Ridden by Michael Dee for Danny O’Brien, It'sourtime kept up a solid gallop to defeat D'Jumbuck (Starspangledbanner) by a half-length Prowling (Wolf Cry) a head back in third.

Runner-up in the Group III Standish Hcp, Group III Zeditave Stakes, Listed Bel Esprit Stakes and third in the Group II Autumn Stakes, the 5yo son of Time For War advances his record to four wins, seven seconds, and two thirds from 17 starts with earnings of $505,425.

“He loves the straight, and he’s probably overdue,” O’Brien told Racing.com.

“He’s had a heap of seconds over the last 18 months in similar style races. He got a lovely steer from Michael (Dee) and deserved the win.”

“I would say he might stay for something like that or potentially have a look at something up north (Queensland). It’s just good to see him back on the winner’s list; it’s been a while.”

Passed in short of his $100,000 reserve when consigned by Widden Stud to the 2019 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, It'sourtime is a half-brother to stakes-placed Zahspeed (Speed 'n' Power) and is the best of four winners from six to race for the unraced Zeditave mare Zedoble who died in 2019.

It'sourtime is the fifth stakes-winner for Snitzel’s dual Group II winner Time For War, who covered two books, leaving 122 foals before his death.
