South African Win for Monsieur Gustave Half-Brother

The Greyville meeting in South Africa on Wednesday produced an interesting winner with the half-brother to in-form stakes-winning sprinter Monsieur Gustave opening his account.

Moon Shadow as a yearlingA four year-old gelding by Pluck (USA), Moon Shadow had been placed four times previously and broke through for the Paul Lafferty stable with a head victory over 1000 metres.

A $25,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Vinery draft for his trainer, Moon Shadow is the fifth winner from Saigon Moonlight, a full sister by Stravinsky (USA) to Group III winner Estelle Collection, the dam of Australian Horse of the Year Lankan Rupee.
