Torryburn Inglis Easter Five to Follow

The Torryburn Stud brand has been on fire in in recent years achieving Group I victories with Champion Hong Kong Sprinter Hot King Prawn, outstanding 3YO sprinting colt Home Affairs and more recently with Espiona and Voyage Bubble and their success has travelled to the global stage with not one, but two runners at the Dubai World Cup meeting on Saturday night.

Elite performers in Hong Kong, Voyage Bubble and Straight Arron both lined up at Meydan in the Group I Dubai Turf Mile and while neither figured in the placings, their effort to be good enough to compete at this elite event as Australian thoroughbreds was noteworthy and Straight Arron came away with a sixth placing.

A son of champion sire Fastnet Rock, Straight Arron was a $270,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Torryburn draft in 2020 for Chris Waller and started his racing life in Australia winning the Group III ATC Carbine Club Stakes before continuing his career in Hong Kong with Caspar Fownes.

The five year-old gelding has racked up multiple Group wins and placings and has won over $2million with his half-sister by Wootton Bassett (GB) set to star in the Torryburn Inglis Easter draft this year.

Lot 77

Offered as Lot 77, she is from Group I Queensland Oaks place-getter Imperial Lass, a three-quarter sister-in-blood to Group I ATC Australian Derby winner Tavago and half-sister to Group II winner La Sizeranne, the dam of stakes-winner Za Moulin Rouge.

Second dam is Group II placed Tricia Ann, a three-quarter sister to Group I winners Grosvenor and National Gallery from a sensational female family that has produced champions Lonhro and Lankan Rupee as well as recent Group I VRC Newmarket Handicap winner Cylinder.

This filly also has a pedigree update as her three year-old half-sister Infinity Imperial (Zoustar) finished second at her second start at Geelong on March 16.

She’s not the only Wootton Bassett filly in the Torryburn draft with Lot 15 set to get the party started early and this first foal from brilliant Group III winning sprinter Fabergino has the distinction of being the only grey yearling by her sire in this sale.

Lot 15

From the family of Group I STC Coolmore Classic winner Camino Rose, Fabergino started her career in WA, but proved her worth against the best Eastern States sprinters winning three stakes races at Flemington and finishing fourth to Nature Strip in the Group I VRC Lightning Stakes at WFA.

Another top class racemare with her first foal in this draft is dual Group II winning Brazen Beau mare Pretty Brazen, who was also placed in Group I company and won just shy of $700,000.

Lot 221

Lot 221 is a Capitalist colt and comes with a big pedigree as Pretty Brazen is from blue hen Pretty Penny, who left eight winners from eight foals to race and amazingly all of them are Black Type performers headed by $1million earning multiple Group I placed Group winners Sertorius and Dollar for Dollar as well as Group winners Pretty Amazing and Clifton Red.

Another first foal from a big family is Lot 423, a Justify (USA) colt from unraced blueblood Pierro mare Arcadia Angel and as the name suggests, he comes from Bob and Sandra Peters iconic family that has delivered them a slew of Group and stakes-winners.

Arcadia Angel is from stakes-winner Arcadia Rose, a half-sister to triple Group I winning $3.9million earner Arcadia Queen (by Pierro), Group II WA Derby winner Arcadia Dream and Group III winner Arcadia Prince (Pierro) with the family also producing dual Group I winner and All Star Mile winner Regal Power (Pierro), plus another Group II WA Derby winner Action (Pierro).

Rounding out the draft is a Zoustar colt from a family that has been very good for Torryburn over the years.

Lot 239

Lot 239 is a half-brother to two winners from Red Hearts, a winning half-sister by Lonhro to brilliant Group II winning sprinter Deploy from Group III winner Crimson Reign, who carried the Torryburn colours to five wins and banked over $900,000 in prizemoney.
