Spieth Joins Aquis Farm

Tara Madgwick - Monday December 18
Quality New Zealand bred sprinter Spieth has been secured by Aquis Farm, however no decision has been made on his racing career.

Spieth"There is no leaning either way at this early stage. We'll give him a break and reassesses from there," Aquis Farm CEO Shane McGrath told Racing NSW.

"He's an outcross, has speed and is an outstanding individual. He's a 10 out of 10 physically and went within a lip of being a Group One winner."

"Race credentials are one thing but physical presence is another and that's what you want to see. If he produces yearlings that look like himself he'll make a commercial stallion."

A Listed winner that was twice placed second at Group I level in the VRC Darley Calssic and Lightning Stakes, Spieth (pictured Steve Hart) is trained by Bryce Heys.

A $200,000 NZB Premier purchase, he is by champion sire Thorn Park from a half-sister to European Group I winner Ransom O'War and further back we see Group I winner and promising shuttle sire Charm Spirit (IRE).
