Located in the Martindale Valley near Denman, Glen Gallic Stud is a well-appointed farm offering a full spectrum of services tailored for thoroughbred breeding, foaling, weaning, spelling, rehabilitation and sales preparation, which is the focus this week with three lovely weanlings to be offered at the Gold Coast.

First into the ring is Lot 63, a lovely filly by Shalaa (IRE) from Deep Gold, a placed half-sister by Deep Field to stakes-winner Black on Gold.

She is the first foal of her dam, who comes from the family of brilliant sprinting mare Driefontein, who won the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and trained on to win the Group I SAJC Sangster Stakes. Driefontein is at stud in Japan and has a colt by Rev de Oro entered for the 2024 JRHA Select Foal Sale in July.

Lot 131 is a good moving filly from the first crop of young Fastnet Rock speed sire Acrobat and she is from an outstanding producer in Issey, who has had eight winners from nine foals to race.

A half-sister by champion sire Encosta de Lago to Group winners Solicit and Star of Giselle, Issey comes from a prolific Black Type family that has also produced this season’s stakes class juvenile filly Karavas.

Lot 371 is a strong well-developed colt from the first crop of Extreme Choice’s Group winning son Tiger of Malay and is the fourth foal of Group II placed Encosta de Lago mare Lucky Lago, a sibling to Group I VRC Oaks winner Pinot and stakes-winner Dizlago from Group I ATC Australian Oaks winner Dizelle, whose dam is Group I Blue Diamond Stakes winner Danelagh.

He’s a colt with a big pedigree and Lucky Lago has already produced a metro winner in Auspicious.
