In a statement they confirmed the four year-old mare has suffered a suspensory ligament injury that will curtail her current preparation and given her immense worth as a broodmare the decision has been taken to retire her to stud immediately.

In Secret was a $900,000 Magic Millions purchase for Godolphin in 2021 from the Segenhoe draft and proved an outstanding sprinter in the care of James Cummings.

She won the Group I VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes beating the colts and then the Group I VRC Newmarket Handicap against the older sprinters.

In Secret retires with the overall record of six wins and six placings from 15 starts with prizemoney topping $5.2million.

She was expected to be the likely runner for Godolphin in this year’s Everest having finished a close fourth in the race last year, so they will now be looking for a new sprinter to fill their slot.
