First Australian Justify Foal of 2024

Tara Madgwick - Friday July 26

Six year-old Pride of Dubai mares Pride of Jenni and Bella Nipotina have been racing up a storm this season, but for Splendiferous, another Group III winning Pride of Dubai mare from the same foal crop, motherhood has come calling with James Bester tweeting a picture of her first born foal earlier today.

A classy stayer that was also fourth in a Group I Queensland Oaks in addition to her Group and Listed wins, Splendiferous was offered in the Newgate Consignment at the 2023 Inglis Chairman’s Sale where she was snapped up straight off the track by James Bester Bloodstock / Ridgmont / Neil Douglas / BRT Bloodstock for what seems a very modest $275,000.

Splendiferous is a Group winning daughter of Pride of Dubai.

She was one of the 188 mares covered last spring by wildly successful shuttle sire Justify (USA), who has been flying high this year with his Epsom Derby winning colt City of Troy and in Australia his brilliant two year-old colt Storm Boy. He was also making headlines today with the explosive winning debut in the UK for his 2.3million colt Ruling Court, read about him here.

A half-sister to Group III winners Ballistic Boy and Yellow Brick, Splendiferous was among the first cabs off the rank covered on September 1 last year by Justify and has delivered this lovely filly foal.
