Three to Follow from Flemington Jumpouts January 19

Darryl Sherer - Monday January 22

Montevideo became another winner for the column when scoring at Kilmore during the week and there looked plenty of future winners at Friday's heats.

TheJames Cummings-trained Fragonard won heat one, leading clearly after 200m to defeat the Chris Waller-trained Overstepin 47.89 seconds with the Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra-trained Booker unhurried behind in fourth place.

The Ellerton Zahra-trained Caulfield two-year-old winner Ollivander looked good clearing out to win heat six in 48.79 seconds after his short let up.

Friday's heats were on the inside grass, starting from the 800m, the markers out four metres and riders reporting the ground in the good(4) range.

Racenet has highlighted three horses it might pay punters to follow in coming weeks.

PLUTOCRACY (3g Sebring x Demetria)

Jumped from the inside and held the rail in heat seven with True Excelsior and Toga Picta on his outside. Travelling strongly and eased clear around the home turn, coming away to defeat Toga Picta by three lengths in 47.89 seconds with Arkamun and Fallen Empire close up. The Lindsay Park Racing-trained Plutocracy showed good ability in the spring, finishing runner-up to Jukebox in the Group III Vain Stakes. The James Cummings-trained Toga Picta disappointed in the spring but is back a gelding and was not put under any pressure in a nice trial.

Career (5-1:2:0)

OOHOOD (2c I Am Invincible x Bella Sunday)

Settled fourth along the inside as the Lindsay Park Racing-trained Colliver and the Leon and Troy Corstens-trained Fendalton set the speed in heat two. Allowed to come through the gap around the bend as Colliver was ridden clear and cruised through to share the heat with the unraced Colliver, this pair six lengths clear of the Mike Moroney-trained King Langdon in 48.95 seconds. Runner-up to Long Leaf in the Listed Merson Cooper Stakes on debut at Sandown last year, the Tony McEvoy-trained Oohood certainly appears to have come back in good form.

Dawn Approach is already the sire of smart metro winners Gongs and CondemnedCareer (1-0:1:0)

BEGIN (2c Dawn Approach x Chatoyant)

Unraced two-year-old son of Dawn Approach and trained by James Cummings. Finished third in heat eight won by the Lindsay Park Racing-trained Another Whisper in 49.13 seconds. Last off the bend he gradually got himself sorted and ran up behind the winner under no pressure from Damian Lane

A colt with bags of scope, he is not a jump and run type of horse but expect this three-quarter brother to Group III winner Montsegur and half-brother to Group III winner Tessera to improve a lot for this experience.
