Pierro Sires Champion Hack of Queensland at EKKA 2024

Tara Madgwick - Thursday August 15

The Thoroughbred Showcase at 2024 Ekka in Brisbane this week has been so well received and in the ridden hack classes it was a Coolmore bred son of Pierro that took the top prize.

10 YO Pierro gelding Shoreditch was the star of the show at EKKA 2024 in the hack ring!

Exhibited by Universal Stables and Sheridan Wyatt, 10 year-old gelding Shoreditch was ridden  by Rhys Stanley and won the ridden thoroughbred gelding and was also Champion Thoroughbred Under Saddle.

Shoreditch then stepped out in the open hack classes against all comers, not just thoroughbreds and won that too before going on to take the ultimate accolade being crowned Champion Hack of Queensland!!

Shoreditch made $290,000 at Magic Millions.

Shoreditch was foaled and raised at Coolmore and made $290,000 at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale in 2016 when bought by Lindsay Park Racing. He raced through until the end of 2019 and changed stables several times before finding his best form in the northern coastal region of NSW.

One of five winners from stakes-winner Delta Girl, Shoreditch raced 24 times for four wins at Taree, Port Macquarie and Lismore with earnings topping $60,000, but has now found his true calling in the show ring.
