Mirra View tops August (Late) Sale at $600,000

Media Release - Wednesday August 21

Quality Stakes-winning mare Mirra View has topped today’s Inglis Digital August (Late) Online Sale, selling for $600,000.

Offered by Paringa Stud on behalf of Bennelong Bloodstock, Mirra View sold to Walnut Farm.

Mirra View sold for $600,000.

She will be moved to the Victorian farm immediately before a decision is made on which stallion she will visit this season for her maiden cover.

In realising $600,000, Mirra View becomes the 78th lot to realise $100,000 or more on Inglis Digital so far this year.

Paringa Stud’s Lynette “Reggie’’ Blundell was thrilled with the outcome.

“We were realistic in watching where the market sat at the moment and while you want to put them on the market and let the competition play out, you also don’t want to give them away so I think this is an ideal outcome for everybody,’’ Blundell said.

“There was a huge amount of interest in her based on the volume of enquiries that either myself or Inglis received, so it’s reassuring to know that she got the attention of all the major breeders and investors domestically.

“This is the best result we’ve achieved online. It’s been a great experience, doing it all from our own backyard, it’s been a really easy and enjoyable process and a great introduction really for us and others moving forward that if we get these top-end mares and it’s out of the traditional sales season, Inglis Digital is a platform available 365 days of the year and that’s really exciting for breeders and sellers in general.

“The Inglis team has been great to deal with and very accommodating, it’s been a privilege really. I had confidence in the mare and confidence in the Inglis team and we’ve all got the job done together.’’

Today’s second-top lot was the Dan O’Sullivan-offered One Last Kiss, which sold to Ultra Thoroughbreds for $275,000.

Like Mirra View, One Last Kiss had been recently retired and is set for her maiden cover this Southern Hemisphere breeding season.

“She deserved what turned out be a very healthy price, she’s a beautiful mare,’’ O’Sullivan said.

“We were really looking forward to her coming back into the stable but unfortunately she sustained the injury which led to her premature retirement but she’s going to make a terrific broodmare.

“The Inglis Digital platform is working very well, the turnover is huge and constant and it just really works well for the industry. It’s a really good product.’’

The August (Late) Sale third-top lot was the Annabel Neasham-trained Dublin Belle, which sold to Middlebrook Valley Lodge for $115,000.

“We’re really pleased with the outcome, $115,000 is a strong price for the ownership group,’’ Neasham said.

“Unfortunately we never got to see the best of her on the track due to injury but I’m sure she’ll make a quality broodmare for the Middlebrook Valley Lodge team.’’

In total the August (Late) Sale grossed $3,235,226.

Entries are now open for the September (Early) Sale, which will be held from September 6-11.
Entries will remain open until midnight on Wednesday September 4.
