Edinburgh Park Return to Inglis Classic Where it All Began

Tara Madgwick - Monday February 5
Ian Smith's boutique breeding operation Edinburgh Park has established a reputation for excellence driven by ongoing results on the track at the highest level, but it all started with world champion sprinter Silent Witness, who they sold at Inglis Classic back in 2001.

A farm that has produced not only Silent Witness, but also the likes of Bull Point, Sister Madly, Dances on Waves, Eximius, Amovatio and Golden Spin, Edinburgh Park is a brand to be respected.

Assimilate is a rising star graduate from Edinburgh Park New stars are emerging all the time from Edinburgh Park and include this season's highly promising three year-olds Assimilate and Tamasa.

A $420,000 Magic Millions purchase in 2016 for China Horse Club/ WinStar Farm, three year-old Sebring colt Assimilate won his first two starts for the Peter and Paul Snowden stable in July last year.

He then finished second in the Group III ATC Ming Dynasty before surging home late for fifth in the Group I ATC Golden Rose after being slowly away.

A colt with Group I potential, he looks set to play a prominent role in the upcoming Autumn Carnivals.

Also looking toward stakes goals in the autumn with be the Darren Weir trained So You Think colt Tamasa.

A $160,000 Inglis Classic purchase, Tamasa won his first two starts at Warrnambool and Bendigo in October and November before finishing a luckless sixth in a Listed race at Flemington.

Given the talent he has shown, Tamasa he will no doubt have some big goals on his agenda in 2018 which is why his half-brother by Deep Field to be offered asLot 395 is sure to be one of the most admired horses in the sale.

He is the third foal of stakes-winner Fill the Page and is a stunning individual by the most popular first season sire this year in Deep Field.

Edinburgh Park will present nine youngsters at Inglis Classic with highlights below:
