Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday December 10

Three heats for juveniles at the Rosehill trials on Tuesday morning and the winners included the most expensive purchase for Yulong from the 2024 Magic Millions, a $1.4million colt by Extreme Choice.

$1.4million Extreme Choice colt Devil Night was bred and sold by Kingstar Farm.

Trained by Team Hawkes, Devil Night surged forward to lead easily and travelled along smoothly until challenged by Russian Revolution colt More Revolution. When asked for a bit more by Jay Ford he duly produced to win by a neck in the quickest time for the three heats.

Bjorn Baker and Rachel King combined to win the previous heat with Written Tycoon colt Written Moment, who was also having his first trial and worked forward to lead. He kicked away after turning for home, but was very green in his action and well held together to win by half a length.

Written Moment was a $150,000 Inglis Classic purchase from Tyreel Stud.

A $170,000 Inglis Classic purchase for Tyreel Stud, Written Moment is from Choux Diva, a metro winning full sister to NZ Horse of the Year Jimmy Choux and half-sister to Group I winer Miss Wilson.

Winner of the fillies heat was the Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou trained Hellbent filly In Limbo, but the Godolphin filly Tempted was a lovely run into second at her second trial appearance.

In Limbo was a $150,000 Magic Millions purchase from Ridgmont.

A $150,000 Magic Millions purchase from Ridgmont for her trainers, In Limbo is a three-quarter sister to stakes-placed filly Joviality and her dam Limbo Down has done a great job to leave five winners, while runner-up Tempted is a half-sister to Group II winner Kallos from Group II ATC Magic Night Stakes winner Calliope.
