I Am Invincible Filly Wins $250,000 MM Victoria

Tara Madgwick - Saturday December 14

The second cheapest of 30 yearlings sold at Magic Millions in 2024 by champion sire I Am Invincible, Invincible Woman showed immense natural talent to lead and kick away for an impressive debut victory in the $250,000 Magic Millions Victoria 2YO Classic(1100m) at Caulfield on Saturday to the delight of connections.

Trained by Lloyd Kennewell and Lucy Yeomans,Invincible Woman was purchased from the Widden Stud draft for just $250,000 by Kennewell Racing/Group 1 Bloodstock (FBAA)/Race With Lizzie so has respected 7 Horse Racing and Racing.com commentator Lizzie Jelfs in the ownership.

She showed nice ability in her jump outs and gave Damien Lane an easy steer as she quickly found the front and shook off all challengers to win by nearly three lengths over the Zousain filly Zouclaire.

“She’s very natural and very quick and just doing it on raw ability, so she should take good benefit from today the experience and hopefully that really brings her on,” said Damien Lane.

Invincible Woman runs for an all ladies syndicate and the Gold Coast is the immediate goal although by no means the only goal for a filly with a big future.

“Lloyd had some all-women’s syndicates in the past without much luck. I said you’ve got to go again and spend a bit more now you’ve got a female co-trainer and now she looks a steal,” said Lucy Yeomans.

“She was actually passed in and then we went back to her. Physically, she wasn’t quite ready. She was broken-in at Hinterland and they do a fantastic job with their horses.

“We’ll be guided by her. We don’t think she’s just a two-year-old. She has a bright future, so we won’t force the issue.”

Invincible Woman was a $250,000 MM purchase from Widden Stud.

Invincible Woman is the third winner from stakes-placed Big Brown (USA) mare Showcase, a half-sister to Group III winner Disposition and grand-daughter of Group I winner Spectrum.

Showcase was bought in foal to I Am Invincible at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale in 2022 for $250,000 by Killora Stud and then sold again this year for $45,000 to The Officiating Syndicate and produced a colt by In the Congo for her new owners.
