Golden Crop is Gift That Keeps Giving
Tara Madgwick - Thursday February 13
When talented three year-old filly Written Scandal bolted in at Wyong on Thursday to win by nearly six lengths she became the 60th winner from that one golden crop of foals by champion sire Written Tycoon that were conceived at Arrowfield Stud in 2020.

Trained by Peter Snowden, Written Scandal was a short priced favourite when resuming from a spell in the fillies maiden over 1100m with her only previous outing a second placing to Winx’s three-quarter sister Wings of Desire at Hawkesbury last July.
Written Scandal stalked the leader Mia Ballerina and gave her windburn after they turned for home when blasting clear for Braith Nock to win as she pleased clocking quicker time than the previous impressive three year-old maiden winner Shirvington, read about him here.

A $320,000 Magic Millions purchase from Arrowfield for Australian Bloodstock/Snowden Racing/William Johnson Bloodstock, Written Scandal is the second winner from Scandaleuse (USA), a winning War Front daughter of US Group I winner Aruna with the next dam US Group II winner Surya, so pedigree is not lacking for this girl!
The next yearling from Scandaleuse is a Dundeel colt that will be offered at Inglis Premier as Lot 442 by Glen Lee Thoroughbreds as agent for Arrowfield Stud.
Written Scandal is from the 2021 foal crop of Written Tycoon conceived at a fee of $77,000 at Arrowfield resulting in 151 foals.
105 have raced and she is the 60th to win and 10 of them are stakes-winners - four are G1 winners Lady of Camelot, Private Life, Captured by Love, Velocious - which is the most number of SW’s Written Tycoon has ever produced in one crop with his previous best being the nine SW’s he delivered from the 2017 crop which was conceived when his fee rose to $49,500 up from $19,800.
When you consider this golden Arrowfield crop are only three year-olds it makes you wonder how many SW’s will ultimately emerge from a group of horses that is already running at 9.5% SW to runner which is way up on his overall lifetime SW to runner of 5.7%.
