$850,000 Inglis Easter Frankel Colt Wins in Japan

Tara Madgwick - Monday March 19
Making a winning debut at Hanshin in Japan last Saturday was Australian bred two year-old Frankel colt Fratelli, an $850,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Glastonbury Farm draft for Katsumi Yoshida.

Trained by Manabu Ikezoe and ridden by Christoph Lemaire, Fratelli won by a length and a quarter in the 1800 metre maiden on the dirt track.

Fratelli as a yearlingBred by China Horse Club and partners, Fratelli is the first winner for Lovetorn, a stakes-winning half-sister by Giant's Causeway (USA) to Group III winner Lovemelikearock. Lovetorn was bought by China Horse Club for $550,000 at the 2015 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale when carrying Fratelli.

Glastonbury Farm offered the current yearling from Lovetorn, a colt by Wandjina, at Magic Millions, but he was passed in shy of his $50,000 reserve.

She produced a filly by Fastnet Rock last spring and was then covered by him again.

The 2018 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale will feature two yearlings by Frankel, colts from Acts of Grace (USA) and Aqua Bella (GB), click here to see the pedigrees.
