Colts Showdown Looms in G1 Sires

Barriers were drawn last night for the Group I races to be run at Randwick on the first day of The Championships this Saturday and when the dust had settled from yesterday exciting Brutal colt Nepotism did not accept for the Sires, but eight other colts did setting up a rematch from the Slipper.

Wodeton missed narrowly in the Slipper and will be looking to atone for Coolmore with champion Irish jockey Ryan Moore in the saddle, while Rivellino was slowly into gear last start before charging home for fourth in the Slipper and has always looked as though 1400m would be his sweet spot and Hugh Bowman has returned from Hong Kong for the ride.

Add in Victorian raiders Vinrock, an unbeaten colt prepared by Treasurethe Moment’s trainer Matt Laurie and Prestige Forever, who bolted in to win the Listed Moonee Valley Pearl last start, and you have a super fascinating race that will have the breeding world very focused on the outcome.
