Gimcrack Stakes Winner for Demerit

Tara Madgwick - Friday March 30

Lonhro stallion Demerit made it back to back winners of the Group III WATC Gimcrack Stakes at Ascot on Friday when two year-old filly Agent Pippa followed on from last year's winner Kiss Bang Love.

Trained by Dan and Ben Pearce, Agent Pippa won her debut at Ascot in October last year and was then flown to Melbourne for the Group III VRC Maribyrnong Plate, but suffered a minor setback and was scratched on the eve of the race.

She resumed from a spell to finish third to Lady Cosmology in the Listed WATC Supremacy Stakes on March 17, but stripped a lot fitter for this assignment.

Agent Pippa led all the way to win the 11000 metre dash by a length and has now won two of three starts earning nearly $170,000 in prizemoney.

DemeritNot offered at auction, she is the second winner from winning Commands mare Female Agent, a daughter of stakes-winner Develan.

Female Agent produced a colt by Demerit last spring and is back in foal to Agent Pippa's sire, who stands at Taunton Vale Stud.

Agent Pippa is the second stakes-winner for Demerit, a Group III winnign son of champion sire Lonhro.
