Riverstone Stallions Welcomes Record-Breaking Superstar STARLUST

Media Release - Saturday May 3

Making his way to Riverstone Stallions this spring is Starlust (GB) the highest rated son of Zoustar to retire to stud.

G1 Breeder's Cup Turf Sprint winner Starlust (GB)

Riverstone Stallions proudly unveils the first stallion to stand at its boutique Hunter Valley-based farm, the electrifying Starlust, a world-class sprinter and the highest rated son of Champion sire Zoustar to EVER retire to stud, as measured by Racing & Sports’ elite global ratings model.

In an era where elite speed is the global currency of racing, Starlust arrives at stud with a profile unmatched by any son of Zoustar before him. A precocious 2YO with Group-winning juvenile credentials, and a blisteringly fast 3YO with Group 1-winning form on the world stage, Starlust is in a league of his own.

“This is a genuine game-changer for us,” said Nick Taylor, Managing Director of Riverstone Stallions. “To have a stallion of Starlust’s calibre, one who has conquered the world’s fastest horses on the biggest stage, as our foundation stallion is beyond exciting.”

Starlust (GB) will stand at a fee of $27,500 inc GST

A son of the exceptional Zoustar, Starlust wrote his name into the record books with a scintillating victory in the Group 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint over his preferred trip of 5 furlongs. In doing so, he defeated a field stacked with world-class speed, including five Group 1 winners.

That performance now stands as the highest rated piece of form ever produced by a son of Zoustar, globally.

As a three-time winning juvenile, Starlust captured the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes over 6 furlongs and was an eye-catching third in the Group 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, despite a slow getaway. At three, he added three more blistering wins, all over 5 furlongs, including a stunning last-to-first triumph in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint.

He was also a close-up third in the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes, widely recognised as one of the world’s premier tests of raw speed.
