Bowness Stud Announce D’Argento’s 2025 Fee

Media Release - Friday May 23

With his current crop of three-year-olds exceeding expectations on what they achieved last season at two, Group 1 winner D’Argento (So You Think) will remain at a fee of $16,500 (inc. GST), with live foal payments terms applying for the upcoming breeding season.

Headed by impressive Listed Galilee Series Final winner Statuario, who went on to finish a narrow second in Group 1 level at his next start and will end his three-year-old season by contesting the Group 1 Queensland Derby (2400m) on May 31, D’Argento is the sire of six individual stakes performers to date.

Another runner holding an entry to the elite level racing during the Brisbane Winter carnival is the Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou trained stakes placed two-year-old filly Sequista who has been nominated for the Group 1 JJ Atkins Stakes (1600m) on June 14.

As the sire of 21 individual winners of 34 races from just 52 runners over distances from 900m to 2400m, D’Argento has had six individual Group 1 runners from his current three-year-old crop, clearly highlighting the potential and faith which connections feel their runners have.

“We’re thrilled with how the progeny of D’Argento have performed so far on the track, and it’s a credit to the trainers who have given them the time they need to perform,” stated Studmaster James Daly.

"Given the challenging conditions many breeders are facing, and despite his impressive racetrack results this year, we’ve chosen to keep D’Argento’s service fee unchanged from previous seasons. We’re confident that he will once again receive strong support from mare owners.”

With eight D’Argento yearlings catalogued for the upcoming Magic Millions National Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast, Bowness Stud is looking forward to offering four quality fillies by him.
