Situated on 60 acres of undulating hills just 45 minutes from the Gold Coast and 75 minutes from Brisbane, Hazelwood was established and designed with the well being of the thoroughbred foremost in mind.

Run by highly respected horseman Beau Skerrett, Hazelwood boasts outstanding facilities and offers a variety of services including agistment, breaking in and education, rehabilitation, pre-training and equine bowen therapy.

"We are excited to have Red Element join us here at Hazelwood Stables," Skerrett said.

"We are very pleased with the type of horse he has - he has conformation, movement and genetics on his side and also has a great nature which for us is very important."

Red ElementThe winner of five of his 17 starts, Red Element raced in strong company and was successful in Listed company on two occasions over 1100m and 1200m... and he was close up at Gr.1 level when beaten three lengths in Nicconi's Galaxy, four lengths in Swiss Ace's Oakleigh Plate and just 1 1/2 lengths in Typhoon Zed's Manikato Stakes.

Red Element's sire Red Ransom, son of the influential Epsom Derby winner Roberto, has been well represented by 109 stakes winners, 16 of whom have been successful at the elite level including Australian Horse Of The Year Typhoon Tracy... Red Element's full sister.

Red Element's dam is the four times Gr.1 winning Last Tycoon (broodmare sire of 151 stakes winners; 28 Group One winners) mare Tracy's Element - a highly successful broodmare whose nine winners include Typhoon Tracy (six times Group One winner) and the stakes placed Kylikwong. She is also ancestress of the stakes winners Cantonese, Red Bomber and Shaft.

Tracy's Element is one of seven winners produced by the dual Gr.3 winner Princess Tracy, also dam of Stradbroke Handicap winner Danasinga (successful sire of 33 stakes winners) and the Group winners Cullen (sire of three stakes winners including Group One winner Joy And Fun from limited opportunities) and Towkay (sire of 13 stakes winners including four Group One winners).

Her other descendants include the Group One gallopers Master Of Design and Suntangonal - as well as fellow stakes winners Assail, Traces, Happy Morning, Fatal Attraction, Awaken, Raffles Pegasus, En Lauder, Prince Of War, Perana and Prince Arthur.

Red Element is a descendant of the influential matriarch Woodbine whose others include the prolific stallions Storm Cat, Royal Academy, Be My Guest, Fusaichi Pegasus and Hennessy.

Red Element's oldest progeny are six and he has been represented by 118 winners from 201 runners; a strike rate of 58.7%. Two of his progeny have been stakes placed whilst another 16 have won at metropolitan level... mainly sprinter/milers.
