Star Weanlings for Spill the Beans

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday May 22
The 2016 breeding season featured the debut of some very impressive young stallions whose progeny will be the centre of attention at the 2018 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale later this week.

Spill the BeansAmong those sires was Aquis based Spill the Beans, who proved the most popular with breeders covering an impressive 202 mares in his first book, which was two more than Golden Slipper winner Vancouver.

Standing at a fee of $11,000, the brilliant Group II winning son of Snitzel struck a real chord with broodmare owners as the first son of the reigning champion sire to stand in Queensland.

Currently in the UK, covering mares at the National Stud at Newmarket, Spill the Beans is poised to make his presence felt in the sale ring this week with 13 lots to be offered for sale.

Aquis have withdrawn four youngsters that will be retained as the decision has been made to keep all of their first crop Spill the Beans foals to enter the Aquis racing system, thereby giving their sire the best possible chance to achieve early success.

An unbeaten two year-old that trained on to further success at three and four, before closing out his career with a memorable win in the Group II QTC Cup, Spill the Beans has the profile to suggest his progeny should be more than capable of running early.
