Siyouni Available for Southern Hemisphere Time Covers

Tara Madgwick - Thursday June 14
The Aga Khan Studs SIYOUNI, who has created a sensation in the European bloodstock ranks and made his mark in Australia this season as the sire of leading juvenile colt Aylmerton, is to be offered to Southern Hemisphere breeders at the Haras de Bonneval.

SiyouniSiyouni's most notable winners to date include triple Group 1 winner ERVEDYA, representing his first crop, whose successes feature the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, and LAURENS, a Group 1 winner as a juvenile and at three years old, and who could further enhance her reputation in the forthcoming Prix de Diane.

The sire boasts an enviable record in Australia, as his sole runner to date, AYLMERTON, bred on Southern Hemisphere time, lifted the Group 2 Todman Stakes this year at Randwick prompting global breeding giant Coolmore to buy into the colt.

A winner at the highest level as a juvenile and Group 1 placed at three years old, Siyouni met with great success with his first four crops which were conceived at a fee of just €7,000, and he ranks amongst the elite European stallions.

The French Champion sire in 2017 is currently ranked third leading European sire according to earnings and fourth in order of 2018 Stakes winners and Stakes performers. Siyouni provides a source of both speed and precocity, and the average winning distance of his progeny is a mile (1581m).

Star Australian 2YO Aylmerton is by SiyouniBy Pivotal, the beautifully-bred SIYOUNI is out of Listed-winning Danehill mare Sichilla, and counts three Stakes winners among his siblings, including dual Group 1 winner SIYOUMA, whose first foal aged three is a Stakes performer in Japan.

Georges Rimaud, manager of the Aga Khan Studs in France said: "SIYOUNI's continuous success in Europe and his first Group winner in Australia have sparked significant interest in Southern Hemisphere.

"The number of mares he has covered this year and his increased value mean we will not be able to shuttle him, however, we wished to make him available to breeders interested in using him Southern Hemisphere time. I believe he is now a very attractive stallion for the Australian market, as he produces strong, well developed, fast horses that are precocious and can race on at the highest level."

Siyouni will cover a selected book of mares on Southern Hemisphere time at the Haras de Bonneval in Normandy, France, for a fee of €50,000 (approx. Aus$76,700
