It’s often said yearling buyers drill for oil where they have found it before and that rang true when BK Racing purchased a colt by Hellbent for $400,000 at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale on Sunday.

Back in 2024, BK Racing purchased a Hellbent filly at Inglis Classic from Riverstone Lodge and under the care of Brad Widdup she has gone on to become Savvy Hallie.
Multiple Group placed at two and then a brilliant winner of the Group II ATC Silver Shadow Stakes last spring, Savvy Hallie has already banked over $670,000 in prizemoney and a portion of that was reinvested on Sunday.

BK Racing partnered with Gary Portelli to buy the Riverstone Lodge consigned Hellbent colt from Miramare (NZ) to the delight of Riverstone Lodge’s Nick Taylor.
The colt has an intriguing pedigree and is bred for speed with a triple cross of Green Desert and his dam Miramare is a sister to Group I winning sprinter Shamexpress, sire of the world’s best sprinter Ka Ying Rising.
The family had another big pedigree update last year when Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas winner Autumn Boy also popped on to the page.
Miramare had a filly last spring by Native Trail (GB) and was then covered by Riverstone Lodge’s foundation sire Starlust (GB).
