Eight Supplementaries Added to Premier Catalogue

Media Release - Tuesday February 17

A total of eight supplementary entries have been confirmed for the Premier Yearling Sale, taking the final catalogue number to 814 lots.

The supplementaries are progeny of Ghaiyyath – whose son topped last week’s Classic Yearling Sale at Riverside – as well as Written Tycoon, Stay Inside, Tagaloa, Home Affairs, Alabama Express, Farnan and St Mark’s Basilica.

A colt by leading young sire Ghaiyyath (IRE) is one of the supplementary entries.

Yulong will present two of the supplementaries, as will Twin Hills Stud, while the others will be offered by Newgate Farm, Coolmore Stud, Balius Farm and Blue Gum Farm.

The supplementaries will be offered in catalogue alphabetical order, which will see lot 807 offered on Day 1 and lots 808-814 offered on Day 2.

Inglis' Victorian Bloodstock Manager James Price is pleased with how preparations are going and is delighted to enhance the original catalogue with these additional lots.

“The addition of supplementary lots to our select yearling sales at Classic and Premier is a new move for us, but it worked well at Classic and our expectation is that these horses will be well received at Premier,” Price said.

“We were delighted with how the catalogue came together through the spring, with excellent local and interstate support for the sale and buyer engagement to this point has been very encouraging.

“Interest in our pre-sale inspection trips this week has been very good and we are looking forward to welcoming vendors and buyers to Oaklands next week.

“Graduate success from the sale over the past 12 months has been excellent and the momentum behind the sale continues to build and build.

“We are very proud of the fact that the sale produced two G1-winning 2YO colts last season in Vinrock and Nepotism, while the fact that each of the past three winners of The Everest to have been offered at public auction are Premier graduates is another significant feather in the cap of the sale.”

The Premier Yearling Sale will be held at Oaklands Junction in Melbourne on March 1-3.

Inspections officially begin Tuesday February 24.
