The $1million VRC Inglis Sprint (1200m) at Flemington on Saturday for Inglis graduates featured a highly competitive field of 15, but cream rose to the top when victory went to top class So You Think filly Getta Good Feeling.

The Danny O’Brien trained filly made swift progress last spring winning the Group II VRC Edward Manifold Stakes (1600m) and Group II VRC Wakeful Stakes (2000m) with a placing in the G1 Thousand Guineas sandwiched in between.
She was a raging hot favourite for the Group I VRC Oaks, but her natural brilliance proved no asset in a marathon staying test and she finished a well beaten sixth.
Fresh and ready to fire with a recent jumpout to tune her up, Getta Good Feeling showed her class for Billy Egan, pouncing on her rivals late to win by half a length over Farnan colt Nashville Jack, who was having his first run after a gallant second in the $3million Magic Millions Sunlight slot race won by Grafterburners.
"She's a high calibre horse and we've always had a massive opinion of her. To be honest, if you stopped the Oaks at the 200-metre mark, she was probably the form filly of the spring,” said stable representative Matt Harrington.
"She has sort of come here a bit forgotten. The best filly in Victoria was first-up today and after the disappointment of that day we put her out, gave her time and came back. She's come back better.
"She's always run well first-up over 1200. That is the hardest one she has been in. She was smothered up and she really let down strong.
"Probably won't see her over 2500 metres again but the over a mile or 2000, the world is her oyster."

Getta Good Feeling was a $525,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Milburn Creek draft for Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock and runs for Jonathan Munz’s Pinecliff Racing.
She was a successful pinhook having been bought for $400,000 at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale from the Phoenix Broodmare Farm by Suman Hedge Bloodstock.
Getta Good Feeling has the overall record of three wins and four placings from eight starts with over $1million in the bank.
Getta Good Feeling is a three-quarter sister to Group III winner Elliptical and is the best of four winners from four foals to race from Marquise da Rossa, a winning Testa Rossa mare from the family of Golden Slipper winner Marauding.
Marquise da Rossa was bought by Yulong for $675,000 at the 2023 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale and has a yearling filly by Alabama Express that sold at Magic Millions for $360,000 to Scott Waters/Jay McPhee/Clarke Bloodstock Pty Ltd.
She was covered last spring by Dundeel, a champion son of High Chaparral like So You Think with the resulting offspring to be a three-quarter sibling to Getta Good Feeling.
