MAXIMISE YOUR SUCCESS: Entries now open for 2019 Inglis Select Yearling Sales Series

Breednet - Saturday July 7
Following a record 2018 season both in and out of the sale ring, Inglis' yearling attention has switched to next year when more horses will be sold on more days of auction as demand for top-quality yearlings continues to increase.

$1Million worth of Breeder/Vendor bonuses will be offered through Inglis on the Melbourne Premier Sale graduates into the Blue Diamond and the Sydney Classic Sale purchases into the Golden Slipper.

More than 2000 yearlings were sold through an Inglis Select Yearling Sale this year, at a market-leading treble of clearance rate (86.4%), overall average ($116,000) and overall median ($65,000).

Inglis also sold the most yearlings in 2018 for $1m or more, most yearlings between $500,000-$1m, most yearlings between $250,000-$500,000 and most yearlings between $100,000-$250,000.

Features of the 2019 Inglis Select Yearling Sales Series include:

*A $500,000 Blue Diamond Bonus split equally between catalogued vendor and supplier if a yearling sold at the 2019 Melbourne Premier Sale wins the 2020 Blue Diamond Stakes.

*A $500,000 Golden Slipper Bonus, split equally between catalogued vendor and supplier if a yearling sold at the 2019 Inglis Classic Sale wins the 2020 Golden Slipper Stakes.

*A bumper four days of the Classic Yearling Sale to start sales season, featuring the Gold Riband session on opening night, which will take place at Riverside Stables following the inaugural $4m Inglis Race Day at Warwick Farm highlighted by the $2m Inglis Millennium for 2YOs.

*A fully renovated Oaklands precinct which will host a revamped Premier Yearling Sale and a new-look, two-day Melbourne Gold Yearling Sale, formerly known as the VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale.

Inglis General Manager of Bloodstock Jonathan D'Arcy was proud of the company's 2018 achievements and looked forward to reaching new heights in 2019.

"What we showed again in 2018 was that if breeders want to maximise their yearling's chance to be sold at its optimum price, that putting them through an Inglis sale was the best way to achieve that,'' D'Arcy said.

"The strength of the yearling market in the southern hemisphere especially continues to grow and we're looking forward to working closely with our clients to help them maximise their success in 2019.

"We are continually working on our relationships with buyers in Australia and abroad to ensure they attend the 2019 Inglis Sales Series and target our clients' valuable bloodstock at Riverside, Oaklands and White Park."

The Melbourne Racing Club's CEO Josh Blanksby described the new Blue Diamond Bonus as "a great incentive for breeders encouraging talent retention within this great racing state of Victoria''.

"The Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes continues to go from strength to strength, just this week confirming a record 1688 nominations for the 2019 race,'' Blanksby said.

"We look forward to seeing a wealth of home-bred talent nominated this time next year and thank Inglis for their continued support of racing at Caulfield."
