Greg Polson previews Narromine Sunday August 13

Greg Polson - Monday August 14

The ability to race on the speed is a huge advantage at Narromine and that ability to race on the pace looks a decisive factor in Sunday's Narromine Cup.

On pacers defined by horses that have the early speed to settle in the first three in running have excellent winning records at Narromine.

Investing on the speed horses at Narromine produces a 41 per cent winning strike rate across all distances and a profit on turnover of 13.9 per cent.

The Narromine Cup Showcase will be run over 1600m on Sunday and the stats for the mile journey highlight on speed as a significant factor in finding a profit at the distance with the on pacers winning strike rate 41.9 percent and a profit on turnover of 22.6 percent.

The speed map for Sundays Cup highlights the horses that will be on speed.

Our Sarastro will set a genuine tempo with Present Sense drawn to get all the favours in the run settling behind the leader.

Present Sense is the horse to beat.

Trained at Tamworth by Craig Martin and a Greg Ryan ride, Present Sense has excellent credentials for Sunday's feature.

Present Sense won three on the trot at Quirindi, Armidale and Tamworth before finishing runner-up at his latest two outings including a second in the Maclean Cup at Grafton last start when he charged home late to just miss reeling in the winner.

Back up to his preferred 1600m on Sunday will see Present Sense more forward in the run and with the speed map and stats in his favour is set to return to the winner's list.
