Smart Winner for Seachange

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday October 24
Two time New Zealand Horse of the Year Seachange featured with a smart winner at Geelong on Wednesday with The Oaks Stud homebred Our Sea Goddess saluting.

A winner in New Zealand back in May at her third start, the lightly raced four year-old was then transferred to Australia and sent to Lindsay Park to be prepared by the Hayes Dabernig training partnership.

The daughter of Darci Brahma was an unlucky second at her first run in Australia aT Moonee Valley on October 5, but made amends for that narrow defeat today.

Two time NZ Horse of the Year Seachange is the dam of Our Sea GoddessShe drew the outside in the Benchmark 64 event over 1400 metres, but was tenacious to the line for Regan Bayliss to post a half head win.

A half-sister to Group III placed Divan, Our Sea Goddess is the second winner from Seachange, who won 14 races, seven of them at Group I level.

Seachange has a two year-old filly by Fastnet Rock called Pelican that made $450,000 at the NZB Book One Sale this year when bought from The Oaks Stud by Mark Pilkington Management / Lindsay Park Racing.

She has a yearling filly to follow by Tavistock and was covered by him again last spring.
