11th Stakes-Winner for Foxwedge

Newgate Farm's Foxwedge enjoyed a Black Type Saturday with a new stakes-winner at Doomben in Stella Victoria and two stakes-placed horses in Volpe Veloce and Shapita.

FoxwedgePrepared by astute trainer Robert Heathcote, progressive four year-old mare Stella Victoria has been flying in her current preparation winning three of four starts since resuming from a spell in late August.

She has steadily worked through the grades and was well fancied in the Listed BRC Legacy Fillies and Mares Classic running out an easy winner of the 1200 metre sprint.

Retained to race by her breeder Wilf Mula of Aston Bloodstock, Stella Victoria has the overall record of five wins and 10 placings from 21 starts with prizemoney in excess of $262,000.

The 11th stakes-winner for Foxwedge, she is the best of three winners from good metro winner Vera's Pride, a half-sister by Youthful Legs (USA) to stakes-winner Malta.

Newgate Farm will offer the current yearling (filly by Dundeel) from Vera's Pride as agent for Aston Bloodstock at the 2019 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale asLot 801 and she has foaled this spring producing a colt by Sizzling.

Foxwedge has five entries for the 2019 Magic Millions and 19 for Inglis Classic.
