First Season Sires – Press Statement

Tara Madgwick - Friday January 4
Our series on Magic Millions first season sires continues with the focus falling on Vinery Stud's Press Statement, the first son to stud of Yarraman Park's much missed Hinchinbrook, a three-quarter brother to Snitzel.

Press StatementNot offered at auction, Press Statement was retained to race by his breeders and was an immediate success on the track winning his first three starts to finish his juvenile season undefeated with a Group I victory in the BRC JJ Atkins Classic.

Even better at three, he won the Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas, was an unlucky second to Le Romain in the Group I ATC Randwick Guineas and chased home superstars Winx and Kermadec at weight-for-age to be third in the Group I ATC George Ryder Stakes.

Press Statement retired lightly raced with six wins from 11 starts and $1.8 million in prizemoney.

Press Statement is a half-brother to another Group I winner in Pressday and has a quality female family packed with Black Type and diverse bloodlines to bring balance to the speed lines of his sire.
