Sam Pritchard-Gordon Joins Cornerstone Stud

Media Release - Tuesday February 19

Sam Pritchard-Gordon is making the move to the Barossa Valley this week to start in the key role of Bloodstock and Nominations Manager at Cornerstone Stud.

Sam Pritchard-Gordon"We consider Sam the perfect fit for our business. Candidates of his calibre only come along occasionally so we are fortunate that the timing was right in this instance," Sam Hayes enthused.

Sam has a broad range of experience in the thoroughbred business initially moving from the UK to Australia in 2005 to work at Arrowfield Stud before moving to Gai Waterhouse Racing as Bloodstock Assistant.

Sam then gained valuable experience over five years as Racing Manager for Freedman Racing which became the launch pad for taking out his own trainers permit in 2011.

"Owning your own business is not for the faint hearted and that certainly includes training horses. There was always a healthy mixture of success and failure, sometimes on the same day. We learned lot about managing horses and a lot about ourselves," Pritchard-Gordon explained.

Sam will be responsible for managing the bloodstock portfolios of Cornerstone Stud and key clients, as well as driving nomination sales and overseeing all marketing activities.

"We are not a big business, but have big aspirations and you need a top team to bring those dreams to life. Sam will be a valuable asset for the business and our clients as we embark on the next chapter of that journey," Hayes concluded.
