New debutante winner for Deep Field

Deep Field produced his fourth winner for the season with an impressive debutante at Bunbury.

Dig Deep as a yearlingTrained by Daniel and Ben Pearce, and ridden by Jarrod Noske, Dig Deep was ridden patiently early, settling rearwards but made a quick-fire move rounding the home turn and keep going impressively to get away from the opposition in the final 100 metres and win by over a length.

Dig Deep is a gelding by Deep Field out of the NZ bred Lucky Ana (by Lucky Unicorn), a half-sister to Group Three winner Estelle Collection, dam of champion sprinter Lankan Rupee.

It's a famous New Zealand family which goes back to the likes of Grosvenor, National Gallery, My Marseillaise and Mahaya.

He's the first foal of his dam who has only left one foal subsequently, a colt by Awesome Rock last season and she returned to that stallion again.

He was a $100,000 purchase for Pearce Racing from the Gold Front Thoroughbreds draft at the Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale.

Dig Deep becomes the fourth winner for Deep Field who also has the stakes placed duo of Hawker Hurricane and Cosmic Force.
