Ninth Winner for Deep Field

Astute trainer Alan Denham produced an impressive winner for Deep Field on Saturday when Mocambo powered to an easy victory at Kembla Grange.

Deep FieldBeaten less than a length at his first outing when fifth at the same venue earlier this month, Mocambo showed the benefit of race experience when settling kindly in the field before surging to the line to win the 1400 metre maiden by a length and a half.

A $100,000 Inglis Classic purchase for Brent Hudson from the Milburn Creek draft, Mocambo is the first winner from Redoute's Choice mare Lady Bligh, a half-sister to stakes-winner Run for Levi from the family of Group I winner Spark of Life, who was also trained by Alan Denham.

Mocambo is the ninth winner for Newgate Farm's exciting young sire Deep Field.
