Sun Stud Announce 2019 Fees

Tara Madgwick - Monday April 22
Sun Stud has announced its stallion fees for 2019 with the exciting addition of Champion 2YO, National Defense, to Victoria's premier lineup.

Winning his Group One by nearly 5 lengths and his debut by 6, National Defense hails from an outstanding black type family and, importantly, is a son of Champion Sire and Sire of Sires, Invincible Spirit.

Shuttling between Sun Stud and the Irish National Stud, where he served a tremendous opening book of mares, National Defense stood alongside Invincible Spirit, who is currently the sire of 120 stakes winners, while his sons include the phenomenal I Am Invincible (who recently equaled the feats of Snitzel and Danehill with 26 stakes winners in a season).

"We've been looking for a Champion 2YO by Invincible Spirit and believe National Defense is definitely the chosen son," Irish National Stud CEO, Cathal Beale points out.

National Defense joins a roster of 10 at Sun Stud for this spring – an ideal mix of proven, rising and promising.

"National Defense was a brilliant juvenile who absolutely streeted his rivals and, not only is he an outstanding type, he's by one of the most influential sires in the world," Sun Stud's Sales & Nominations Manager, Mark Lindsay, explains.

"We couldn't be happier with the 'team' for 2019 and the National Defense announcement comes off the back of terrific results recently from Sun Stud stallions such as Fiorente, who this month notched up his third stakes winner with the Lindsay Park trained 2YO, Power Scheme.

"Sun Stud will again offer the best terms available to breeders, with no payment due until live foal."
