Aquis Announce 2019 Service Fees

Media Release - Wednesday April 24

Following the announcement of Acclamation's Group 1 Prix de la Foret winner Aclaim (GB) joining Aquis Farm for 2019, the Fung family are extremely proud to highlight another two outstanding stallions who will form part of one of Australia's most exciting stallion rosters for the upcoming breeding season.

Brave Smash wins the Gr.1 Manikato StakesImpressive, dual Group 1-winning sprinter Brave Smash (Jpn) and I Am Invincible's Group 2 Skyline Stakes-winning son Santos to complete a 13 stallion roster, all of which have been specifically selected for their combination of speed and precocity, key attributes which suit the Australasian market.

"In consultation with breeders, we have selected three new stallions for 2019 who we feel meet the stringent criteria breeders look for in Australia, exceptional ability, juvenile precocity and speed," stated Aquis Group CEO Shane McGrath.

A member of the globally recognised Sunday Silence sire-line, Brave Smash was a stakes winning juvenile in Japan, his country of birth, before being purchased privately to race in Australia by Australian Bloodstock.

Highlighting his class from the time he arrived with a Listed win and two stakes placed performances from his first three starts, he went on to finish third in the inaugural running of the $10 million The Everest (1200m) at Royal Randwick.

Settling just off the speed in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield, Brave Smash showed a great turn of foot, charging through a gap to register his first Group 1 victory, defeating dual Group 1 winner Tosen Stardom with ease.

After further Group 1 placings in the Newmarket Handicap and the Moir Stakes, Brave Smash achieved his second Group 1 win, defeating Group 1 Randwick Guineas winner Kementari in the MRC Manikato Stakes (1200m), achieving a time of 1:09.36, faster than previous winners Chautauqua, Lankan Rupee, Buffering, Sepoy, Hay List and Redoute's Choice.

Champion sire I Am Invincible is rapidly emerging as a sire of sires through his first son to stud in Brazen Beau, with Aquis securing his precocious Group 2 winner Santos for stud duties this season.

Third on debut in the Listed Breeders' Plate off the back of success in the early Spring barrier trials, the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Santos went on to claim the Pierro Plate two starts later before success in the Group 2 Skyline Stakes (1200m), a race steeped in stallion making history – won by the likes of Hinchinbrook, Casino Prince, Snitzel, Choisir, Viscount and Strategic – all Group 1 producing sires.

Completely free of Danehill blood, Santos has the outstanding looks, natural speed and all qualities that are hallmarks of his famous sire I Am Invincible, factors which will surely appeal to broodmare owners this spring.

Brave Smash will stand at a fee of $22,000 (including GST) at Aquis' Hunter Valley property, while Santos' fee is
$16,500 (including GST), and will also stand at the Hunter Valley property. Aclaim will stand at $13,750 (including GST) and will stand at Aquis' property in Canungra, Queensland.
