Ninth First Crop Winner for Cable Bay

Woodside Park shuttler Cable Bay (GB) has been busy producing winners in the Northern Hemisphere and had the quinella in the juvenile event overnight in the UK at Newmarket with a head separating Tomfre and Flash Henry.

Cable BayThe ninth winner for his sire, the Ralph Beckett trained colt Tomfre was third on debut at Windsor earlier this month and improved on that effort to win over six furlongs at his second start with runner-up Flash Henry appealing as another potential winner for Cable Bay in coming weeks.

Tomfre is the second winner from Kurtanella, a Pastoral Pursuits mare from a family that has produced Group I Australian Oaks winner Daffodil.

A brilliant sprinter by Invincible Spirit, Cable Bay has sired his nine winners from 26 runners and has a stakes horse in Visayos and smart winner Electric Ladyland and Liberty Beach, who was fourth in the Group II Royal AScot Queen Mary Stakes.

Cable Bay returns to Woodside Park for his third season in Victoria at a fee of $13,200.
