Day One a Breeze for Quality 2YO's

Day One of the New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale Breeze Ups saw 188 two-year-olds charge down the final straight of Te Rapa Racecourse.

This morning’s track conditions were recorded as a Dead 5, which remained consistent throughout the day.

Showcasing had the fastest breeze up of the session The fastest Breeze Up of the day was Heat 22 from Sam Beatson’s Riversley Park draft. A Showcasing colt (Lot 159) out of four time-winning Zabeel mare in Saheel had the quicker time of the duo breezing up at in 10.52. The latter was a Super Easy colt (Lot 192), a half-brother to Group Two placed Boots ‘n’ All (Perfectly Ready) and Listed winner Air Max (Nadeem) running a time of 10.53.

Heat 78 produced a smart Breeze Up from two fillies. Prepared by Katrina Alexander for Westbury Stud, Lot 40 by Reliable Man is out of winning Zabeel mare Limbea breezing up in 10.68. Galloping a time of 10.66 was another filly (Lot 365) by leading New Zealand sire Savabeel from the Trelawney Stud draft.

Another eye-catching Breeze Up came from Heat 34 out of the Kilgravin Lodge draft. Lot 106 by Per Incanto breezed up with a quick time of 10.7. Darci Brahma geilding (Lot 170) out of stakes placed mare Shamabelle ran a smart time of 10.67.

This year’s Breeze Ups will be aired lot-by-lot on Trackside TV in New Zealand and Racing.com in Australia with schedules yet to be announced.
