Eurozone the Perfect Outcross

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Tuesday October 22

The Encosta de Lago sireline is running hot through the likes of Zoustar, Rubick and Deep Field with quality Northern Meteor stallion Eurozone bringing this prized bloodline to the Canberra district offering a perfect outcross for the plethora of Danzig line mares in the area.

Eurozone stands at Bellereve Stud near CanberraBest known as the sire of smart Group II placed stakes-winner Krone, who this year won the Listed ATC Darby Munro Quality, and $150,000 Bendigo Guineas winner Mystery Love, Eurozone has shown a real affinity with Danzig line mares, who have produced all three of his stakes-winners so far in Krone, Mystery Love and the Macau based Tagmaster.

Eurozone has established a successful nick with Pendragon, who raced in similar ownership for Dato Tan Chin Nam, producing five winners from eight runners bred from Pendragon mares highlighted by Mystery Love.

“Pendragon is a grand-son of Danzig and most of the success achieved by Eurozone so far has been with mares from this sireline,” said Bellereve Stud’s Chris Burke.

“He’s had four winners from four to race from Fastnet Rock mares as well as multiple winners from daughters of Redoute’s Choice, Flying Spur and God’s Own.”

Eurozone has had a number of lightly raced smart winners in recent weeks including Euro Belle, Mnementh and Karmazone, who has won two from two.

The Gillian Heinrich trained Euro Belle was fourth in a stakes race in Brisbane last season at two and resumed from a spell to score an impressive win at the Sunshine Coast earlier this month giving promise of a good campaign ahead for the talented filly.

Completely free of Danehill blood, Eurozone is an attractive horse on pedigree to suit a wide variety of mares and his race record is a great testament to his quality.

Undefeated in two starts as a juvenile, Eurozone raced in elite company at three winning the Group II ATC Stan Fox Stakes (1400m) and earning Group I placings in the MRC CF Orr Stakes and ATC Randwick Guineas.

His offspring excel over a similar distance range proving successful from 1000 metres up to 1600 metres.

Eurozone stands at a fee of $7,700 this spring at Bellereve Stud.
