Edinburgh Park Bred and Sold Winner

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday October 23

Ian Smith of Edinburgh Park was making news earlier this week for his stance on thoroughbred welfare (read about it here), but one of his horses carrying the IKS brand that won’t be returning home any time soon is talented sprinter Chicago Cub, who won his third race at Geelong on Wednesday.

Chicago Cub as a yearling, bred and sold by Edinburgh ParkTrained by Mike Moroney, the four year old Zoustar gelding scored a half length win in the 1200 metre Benchmark 70 event as favourite.

A $260,000 Magic Millions purchase for Paul Moroney Bloodstock from the Edinburg Park draft, Chicago Cub has been super consistent for his owners with three wins and three placings from seven starts with earnings approaching $80,000.

Bred and sold by Edinburgh Park, Chicago Cub is a half-brother to stakes-winner Assimilate and is one of three winners from stakes-winning Commands mare Jester’s Girl, who sadly died last month after delivering a colt by Written Tycoon.
