The ageless More Than Ready (USA) is now the leading sire of Breeders’ Cup winners after Chad Brown-trained Uni took the Vinery Stud shuttlers total to seven in the TVG Breeders' Cup Mile (G1) at Santa Anita on Saturday’s.
The only two females in the race, Uni turned the tables on her Fourstardave (G1) conqueror Got Stormy by an emphatic one and a half lengths.
The Fourstardave was Uni’s only defeat in her last seven starts.
"Joel (Rosario) did exactly what we planned, which was to break as well as you can and let her find herself in the first turn," Brown told The Blood-Horse.
"Luckily, Without Parole moved to the rail for us, and we were in the two path and sort of raced as a team down the backside. I just loved where my spot was."
Bred by Haras d'Etreham, Uni was a €40,000 yearling purchase at the 2015 Arqana August Sale.
She advances her overall record to 10 wins three seconds and three thirds from 18 starts with earnings of $2,347,880.
More Than Ready (USA) also features as the broodmare sire of Friday’s GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf winner Structor (Palace Malice) and of GII Juvenile Turf Sprint hero Four Wheel Drive (American Pharoah).
