Stud Manager Wanted for Milburn Creek Thoroughbreds

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday February 26
Popular owner/breeder John Muir of well-respected and highly successful thoroughbred breeding enterprise Milburn Creek Thoroughbreds is seeking a new Stud Manager.

STUD MANAGER – PERMANENT POSITION WILDES MEADOW – NSW.

Our Stud Manager is retiring from the breeding industry. This provides a rare opportunity for the right person to become the Manager of a respected boutique Stud embracing twenty (20) high class brood mares and their offspring.

The Stud established for some thirty (30) years is located on superb country less than two (2) hours drive from Sydney and has an enviable reputation having produced many recent Group 1 winners including Sizzling (pictured Steve Hart) and Once Were Wild.
The facilities compared to other thoroughbred investments are rated by many as second to none.

The successful applicant must be absolutely hands on and be prepared to work as part of a small but dedicated team, looking after the horses best interests but also general farm management and the presentation of the property.

Broodmares are walked in to stallion farms for service and yearlings are prepared at the Stud and sold at all major venues. Proven expertise in yearling preparation and foaling is essential.

The area does provide several local school options for those with children.

A generous remuneration package with a very attractive three (3) bedroom home set in a beautiful garden and a current motor vehicle will be provided.

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic horseman or woman with an eye for detail, self-motivated and capable of leading a small cohesive team. People skills a must.
