Giving Blake Shinn his 1000th career win, Arabian Gold made light work of the heavy conditions defeating the Guy Walter-trained Missvonn (Teofilo) by 1-1/4 lengths with half a length to Lady Cumquat (Duke Of Marmalade) in third (photo Lisa Grimm).
Van Dyke said he would consider backing up the daughter of Dubawi (IRE) in next week's $4 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m).
"The hardest thing when you're having a bad run is to stick to your guns. The temptation is there to change them," Vandyke said.
"I thought she was pretty dominant today and we'll give serious consideration to backing her up next week.
"It wasn't run to suit out there and she was forced to sit three wide with no cover."
A hombred for prominent owner and breeder Nick Moraitis, Arabian Gold is the sixth foal of the Sydney winning Vettori mare Coablo a sister to the multiple stakes-placed Pentelikon.
Moraitis sold Coablo for $20,000 to Rosemont Bloodstock at the 2012 at the Magic Millions National Broodmare sale when carrying an Exceed And Excel colt. That colt turned over a quick profit by making $50,000 as a weanling before being on-sold at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling sale in January where he was knocked down to Gai Waterhouse/James Harron Bloodstock for $75,000.
Coablo has a colt foal by Toorak Toss and was bred back to Bel Esprit.
