Landrigan Lucky with Lockdown Buy

Media Release - Thursday May 7

Taranaki-based breeders Patrick and Kevin Landrigan celebrated a lucky pedigree update to his most recent gavelhouse.com buy just days after the sale courtesy of yesterday’s 10-length winner Aguante (Reliable Man) at Murray Bridge.

Ebony StarTrained by Michael Hickmott, Aguante’s next assignment is reported to be the Gr.3 South Australia Fillies Classic (2500m) much to the delight of Landrigan who purchased her half-sister Ebony Star (Bachelor Duke) on gavelhouse.com on 27 April for just $500 commenting “The mare is empty now, so ready for nice early service and at this stage she will probably go to Ace High.

“We are shareholders in Ace High, and Ebony Star is also a half-sister to current stakes winner Espresso Martini who is by High Chaparral, the sire of Ace High.

“However, if Aguante keeps winning, we might get a call from Russel Warwick at Westbury Stud to send her to Reliable Man!”

Ebony Star is out of Gr.1 Levin Classic winner and Gr.1 NZ 1000 Guineas runner up Keepa Cruisin (Keeper) who is a half to champion racemare Seachange (Cape Cross).

gavelhouse.com currently has a 125-Lot auction online with all but 16 Lots unreserved. Bidding closes from 5pm on Monday 11 May.
