Second Win for Super One Filly

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday May 12

One of four first crop winners for Newgate Farm’s young I Am Invincible son Super One, Lucky Shadow made it two wins from three starts when scoring at Taree on Tuesday.

Super One is the sire of Lucky ShadowTrained by Bob Milligan, Lucky Shadow won her debut at Tamworth last month and was then third in the $30,000 Romantic Dream Plate at the same venue.

She settled midfield and was strong to the line for Grant Buckley to win the 1000 metre dash by a long neck.

Lucky Shadow was a modest $15,000 Inglis Classic purchase for her trainer from the HP Thoroughbreds draft and has already won back her purchase price banking over $35,000 in prizemoney.

Bred by Mike O’Donnell of Fairhill Farm, who sold her as a weanling for $15,000, Lucky Shadow is the first winner from Tiger Eyes, a half-sister by Choisir to stakes-winner Speedy Leo.

Super One remains at a fee of $11,000 this year and covered 169 mares last spring.
