Daily Debutants

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday September 29

Champion trainer Chris Waller has a lot of bluebloods in his stable, but the half-brother by Medaglia D’Oro (USA) to triple Group I winner Shoals would be right up there at the top of the pile.

Three year-old Rapids was withdrawn from Inglis Easter by Arrowfield Stud and runs for a syndicate that includes his breeders Arrowfield and Jonathan Munz as well as various Waller stable clients.

He is the fourth foal from regally bred producer The Broken Shore, a half-sister by Hussonet (UA) to Group I winners Redoute’s Choice, Manhattan Rain and Platinum Scissors.

Rapids is a half-brother to triple G1 winner Shoals.

The Broken Shore’s previous three foals to race are all winners headed by Shoals and Group I placed Groundswell as well as metropolitan winner Tides, all three sired by Fastnet Rock.

Rapids has had several barrier trials and is in Race 2 at Kensington, click for the form.
