Hinchinbrook Filly Impressive

Tara Madgwick - Saturday October 17
Reigning Champion Australian First Season Sire Hinchinbrook featured at Randwick on Saturday with a highly impressive juvenile winner in Miss Amajardan, who broke subsequent Group I winner Sweet Idea's class record.

An easy winner of the $17,000 Romantic Dream Plate at Armidale on debut last month, the country trained filly put the city slickers to shame in the $85,000 Victory Vein Plate over 1000 metres.

Miss Amajardan

Turned out in great order by Port Macquarie trainer Jenny Graham, Miss Amajardan (pictured Steve Hart)  jumped well and raced up on the pace before forging clear to win by a length in a brisk 56.93 seconds.

HinchinbrookA bargain $6,500 Inglis Scone Yearling Sale purchase for owner Dale Miller from the draft of Glastonbury Farm, Miss Amajardan is the first winner for minor winning Encosta de Lago mare Jahre, a grand-daughter of Group III winner and star producer Procrastinate.

The dam of five stakes-winners headed by Group I winner Laisserfaire, Procrastinate has spawned an impressive little Black Type dynasty so Miss Amajardan has quite a bit of pedigree to back her up despite the modest yearling price!

A three-quarter brother by Fastnet Rock to Snitzel, Hinchinbrook has made a sensational start to his stud career for Yarraman Park.

He leads the Australian Second Season Sires List by earnings following a resounding victory last Saturday in the Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas by his star colt Press Statement.
