Juvenile Trial Watch – Warwick Farm

Tara Madgwick - Friday October 9

Four heats for juveniles were conducted at Warwick Farm on Friday morning with Darley first season sire Astern producing a winner in the Star Thoroughbreds colours, while the most expensive Not a Single Doubt sold at the Gold Coast was also in the winner’s list.

Trained by Chris Waller, Divina jumped from barrier one to hold the fence and settle behind the leaders before surging up that fence when shown clear running in the straight to win by a head over Pippa Charlotte, a three-quarter sister to last season’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Away Game.

Divina is the second foal of stakes-placed Domesday mare Sakitto a half-sister to the dams of Group III winners Detours and Aichi as well as stakes-winner Kinshachi.

The fastest heat for juveniles was won by Not a Single Doubt filly Mura Mura from the Peter and Paul Snowden stable. She also had the benefit of barrier one and hugged the rail all the way, travelling on the speed and kicking clear to win by more than a length.

Running in the colours of US based Stonestreet Stables, who enjoyed Group I success with another Not a Single Doubt filly in Miracles of Life, Mura Mura is from stakes-placed Mount Zero.

She was the most expensive yearling by her sire sold at Magic Millions this year and comes from the family of Golden Slipper winner Farnan, who is by her sire Not a Single Doubt.

Additional juvenile trials were won by Hodgson (Hinchinbrook) and Ghostwriter (I Am Invincible), also both sold at Magic Millions.
