A $280,000 Magic Millions purchase for Aquis from the Widden Stud draft, Nuclear Energy was unplaced on debut at Kembla back in May for Ciaron Maher and David Eustace and then seventh at Ipswich in September when trained by Kacy Fogden.

Now owned and trained at Bendigo by Anne Yates, who bought him for $22,500 from a reduction of Aquis stock in the Inglis Digital October Online Sale , Nuclear Energy was a different horse on Wednesday in his new ownership and environment.

He enjoyed a good run on the fence for Daniel Moor and dashed quickly over the final furlong to win the 1400m maiden by a length and a quarter.

Bred by Widden Stud in partnership, Nuclear Energy is the second winner from two foals to race from well bred Street Cry (IRE) mare Ringhals, a daughter of Group I winner Black Mamba f rom the family of Group I winners Roman Emperor, Tully Thunder and Levendi.

Widden Stud will offer the current yearling from Ringhals, a filly by Zoustar as Lot 707 at Magic Millions.
